Draw, Impress, Writer and Calc all have the ability to create and format Drawing Shapes. Because the Drawing Shapes are handled in the same way in all these programs a Drawing Shapes tutorial has been created in the Impress section of this web site because Impress followed by Draw are the two programs where Drawing Shapes can be the most effective.
Constructed Shapes allow you to create your custom shapes using the Shape Commands. Pictures can be turned into custom shapes and text can be converted in letter shapes that can be filled with an image. The Constructed Shapes tutorial is also found in the Impress section. The Shape Commands are only found in Impress and Draw.
